The 2017 Nzo Moonride will be held on the 10th and 11th of March
The iconic Moonride will be held at the Waipa Mountain Bike Area off State Highway 5 and use the stunning Whakarewarewa Forest trails.
New for 2017! A 25km night race for individuals! This will start at 8pm on Friday 10th March. It will follow a 1 lap course incorporating the start and finish of the Moonride course. This is open to riders of all abilities. Course details coming soon!
The Nzo Moonride course will entail a mix of grade 2 – 3 mountain bike trails and forestry roads to allow for easy passing. The Moonride course will utilise trails such as Tahi, Creek, Lion, Turkish Delight and Rockdrop.
24 Hour Event: Teams of 2 – 5 or Solo riders
12 Hour Event: Teams of 2 – 5 or Solo riders
6 Hour Event: Teams of 2 – 5 or Solo riders
The 24 hour event starts at 10pm Friday night and goes through until 10pm Saturday. This is for the serious boys and girls, or those after a real challenge! The 12 hour event starts at 10am Saturday morning and goes through until 10pm. These events are open to solo riders and teams of 2 – 5 people. The 6 hour event starts at 10am Saturday morning and goes through to 4pm. It is open to solo riders and teams of 2 – 5 people
Teams ride the 9km circuit and complete as many laps as they can within the timeframe of their event. Tents, campervans and caravans pop up in the campsites which riders wind their way through each lap creating an electric atmosphere and unbelievable experience.
